Update 2/21/08
After months and months of waiting and hoping, Justice finally got the wonderful family that he deserved! We are thrilled that Justice will be a cherished family member with his very own little boy to look after! This miracle was only made possible through the devotion and support of hundreds and hundreds of animal lovers from all over the country who pulled together for Justice during his darkest hours. The big, strapping, beautiful boy that Justice is today is the perfect example of how rescue WORKS when we all work together for the benefit of our fellow creatures in need. Thank you to everyone who has been following Justice's story of recovery for all of these months. As a result of the hard work by our volunteers, and the wonderful donations and heartfelt prayers from our supporters, he is strong and healthy and ready to find a wonderful loving home. Justice will have permanent scarring as a result of the burns, but the wounds are healed over. We apply a special salve to his exposed skin every day to keep it from drying and cracking due to the sun as he does not have hair to protect him in a few places.
Justice is a very happy-go-lucky teenager. He reminds us of a 1 year old dog in a 3 year old dog's body because he's just so sweet and playful. A very devoted team of volunteers has been working with him on his manners and now he walks perfectly on a leash! He loves his regular walks, and just hamming it up by rolling in the grass. We think that Justice would enjoy having another large dog as a companion, but small dogs and cats...not so much!
Justice will require a physically STRONG caretaker as he is a powerhouse. Justice likes children but he would be too much for very young children because he's so strong and kind of klutzy in an endearing way.
The person or family who adopts Justice will not only be getting a wonderful, devoted companion, they will be doing a great deed for a dog that has experienced the worst of humanity. Please help us to make the rest of Justice's life so wonderful that he forgets about the horrors that he suffered before he came to us.
