This sweet girl came into the safety net of GSROC when her family could no longer care for her… Ada is a total sweetheart, who adores people and especially children. Ada LOVES to go for walks and is such a lady on leash. She is the type of GSD that is always looking back to check on her people. She is so happy when going for a walk her tail never stops wagging with happiness. Ada dosen’t just walk, she prances with happiness!
One of our volunteers had to move Ada from one kennel to another as we have so many dogs in rescue it is a constant juggling act to keep saving these precious lives. Our volunteer took Ada for a walk and Ada was such a good girl, greeting everyone she met with a wag of her tail. Then Ada happily jumped in the volunteer’s car for the long ride to yet another kennel. The volunteer had cooked a fresh marrow bone to give Ada something to do on the long drive. Even though Ada was drooling over the bone, she was more interested in giving our volunteer kisses. Ada is a perfect passenger in the car. Ada spent most of the drive with her head on our volunteers shoulder giving gentle kisses.
Once we got Ada to the kennel she jumped out and danced with glee as if to say…YIPPEEEE I’m home !!! Then she realized this volunteer was not her new Mom,and she was not going to her forever home… She was going to yet another boarding facility. You could see the heartbreak in her eyes. As our volunteer handed Adas leash to the person putting Ada in her run, Ada looked at our volunteer with such sadness, she thought her heart would break. When she told Ada “Go on girl, get inside” Ada hung her head and did as she was told…
Ada is looking for a home where she will be loved and cherished. Ada’s dream is that her next car ride, not be to an adoption event or to yet another kennel, but to her forever home and her forever family…Can you be the one to make Ada’s dreams come true?

Home Visit Prior to any dog going home, we do require a home visit to ensure that your environment is safe and secure. Once your home has been approved, the adoption can move forward.
Adoption Donation In light of the rising vet care costs associated with Giardia tests and boarding at vets, we are raising our adoption donation for adult GSDs to $395.00 starting on July 1, 2021
The adoption donations for other dogs will remain the same — $475.00 for purebred puppies, $375 for mixed puppies. (On a case by case basis, e.g. senior for senior, we will place a senior for $275.00 with a senior.)
This donation is tax-deductible as allowed by law and helps to offset the costs that we have incurred for the dog’s care and housing during his or her stay with our group. The minimum adoption donation does not entirely cover the investments that we have made in the dogs, so if you are in a position to give more, we would be honored to receive your additional donation. All adoption donations go directly toward the needs of our dogs.
All dogs adopted through GSROC are spayed or neutered, current on their vaccines and de-wormed. Because the minimum Adoption Donation rarely covers the costs associated with each dog, we ask that adopters who are in a position to give additional funds do so at their discretion.
