Ajax

I Play Well With Others!UPDATED BIO!

This cute little guy was found at a car wash of all places!  The poor puppy was found in the bushes and stayed there overnight until finally someone one stepped up to bring him to safety.  GSROC heard of his plight and made room for him in our lifeboat.

Ajax was hungry, dirty and so very scared.  Ajax is a cute, lively little guy who certainly deserves better treatment that he has received so far.

He is now in a GSROC foster home where he is learning the ropes.   He greeted the resident dogs politely and plays well with them.  Now that he is feeling more comfortable, his true personality is coming out.  He is a happy, playful, energetic guy.   He likes people, has good leash skills and is happily learning all sorts of new commands.

However, Ajaz IS still a puppy and in order to develop into a wonderful mature adult, he will need a family willing to continue his training and be willing to work with him as he grows.  Currently he is smaller than the adult dog in the home and is polite, but Ajax doesn’t realize he is growing big and strong.  When he plays with the small dog in the home, he is too exuberant.   A home with other large friendly dogs will be a better match for Ajax.   He just doesn’t realize he is no longer a tiny puppy.

Toddlers and small children would not be a good match for Ajax either.   They will get knocked over due to his exuberance.   Older, school age or teen age children would be better for sweet Ajax.

Please remember, adopting a puppy is not everyone’s cup of tea.  As cute as they are – puppies demand a large investment of time, patience, and training.  They are inquisitive, have endless energy and get into just about everything.  They dig, chew, and seemingly never stop! Think long and hard about your lifestyle.

If you are not willing to invest the time and training to ensure your puppy matures into the wonderful dog – then please consider an older dog.

PLEASE NOTE.  PUPPIES ARE SHOWN BY APPOINTMENT ONLY.  THEY DO NOT COME TO ADOPTION EVENTS.  PLEASE SUBMIT YOUR APPLICATION AND A COUNSELOR WILL CONTACT YOU DIRECTLY.

If you are interested in meeting him, please complete the online application and an adoption counselor will contact you.

Home Visit Prior to any dog going home, we do require a home visit to ensure that your environment is safe and secure. Once your home has been approved, the adoption can move forward.

Adoption Donation In light of the rising vet care costs associated with Giardia tests and boarding at vets, we are raising our adoption donation for adult GSDs to $395.00 starting on July 1, 2021

The adoption donations for other dogs will remain the same — $475.00 for purebred puppies, $375 for mixed puppies. (On a case by case basis, e.g. senior for senior, we will place a senior for $275.00 with a senior.)

This donation is tax-deductible as allowed by law and helps to offset the costs that we have incurred for the dog’s care and housing during his or her stay with our group. The minimum adoption donation does not entirely cover the investments that we have made in the dogs, so if you are in a position to give more, we would be honored to receive your additional donation. All adoption donations go directly toward the needs of our dogs.

All dogs adopted through GSROC are spayed or neutered, current on their vaccines and de-wormed. Because the minimum Adoption Donation rarely covers the costs associated with each dog, we ask that adopters who are in a position to give additional funds do so at their discretion.
