Brady was passed over again and again at the crowded animal shelter. Many people went by his cage but no one stopped to comfort or cuddle him because of his skin condition. He was not perfect…so he was not wanted. Fortunately, GSROC and our wonderful supporters can see past this surface skin condition to the beautiful heart that beats inside of Brady. He is already at our vet’s office and we have begun to treat him with prescription medication and soothing baths.
Brady is a GSD mixed with something fluffy. Our volunteers are calling him a “German Doodle”—so maybe he’s a very rare designer dog?!?! We don’t know what his mix is exactly, but we knew that we had to help him.
Brady’s care will be expensive and lengthy, so we are looking for some special guardian angels to help Brady with his vet care costs. Your donation will make it possible for us to provide relief and comfort to a puppy that is truly deserving. Please don’t overlook Brady–he may not be perfect, but neither are most of us, right?
UPDATE 2/18 A frightening twist:
Due to his compromised immune system, Brady contracted pneumonia and is struggling to breathe. We are treating him with IV fluids, plenty of antibiotics and round-the-clock care at our vet’s office. Just when we thought that Brady’s luck had changed for the better, this happened. We are committed to pulling him out of this tailspin, but we need our supporters to help us with his MOUNTING veterinary bills. Can you pledge a gift in any amount for Brady?

Home Visit Prior to any dog going home, we do require a home visit to ensure that your environment is safe and secure. Once your home has been approved, the adoption can move forward.
Adoption Donation In light of the rising vet care costs associated with Giardia tests and boarding at vets, we are raising our adoption donation for adult GSDs to $395.00 starting on July 1, 2021
The adoption donations for other dogs will remain the same — $475.00 for purebred puppies, $375 for mixed puppies. (On a case by case basis, e.g. senior for senior, we will place a senior for $275.00 with a senior.)
This donation is tax-deductible as allowed by law and helps to offset the costs that we have incurred for the dog’s care and housing during his or her stay with our group. The minimum adoption donation does not entirely cover the investments that we have made in the dogs, so if you are in a position to give more, we would be honored to receive your additional donation. All adoption donations go directly toward the needs of our dogs.
All dogs adopted through GSROC are spayed or neutered, current on their vaccines and de-wormed. Because the minimum Adoption Donation rarely covers the costs associated with each dog, we ask that adopters who are in a position to give additional funds do so at their discretion.
