Little "Bumper" got his name because he was hit by a car, resulting in a broken leg. Bumper is 5 months old and so forgiving! He is already on the mend and walking well!

Adoption Application

Bumper was slated to be euthanized at a far-flung county shelter just because he had had the misfortune of being hit by a car! The shelter did not have the funds to repair Bumper’s broken leg, and figured that no one would want a broken puppy…they were wrong! GSROC sprang into action and one of our tireless volunteers rushed off to ensure Bumper’s safety.

Bumper is not a purebred GSD, but we couldn’t stand to see his life ended over something completely treatable. He is a shepherd/hound mix and he’s long and gangly in a cute and floppy sort of way. In fact, he looks something like the Disney dog, Goofy! Bumper seems to be a quiet sort of fellow with a positive outlook about life. He gets along very well with other dogs and would probably be fine with a kitty pal, too, if properly introduced.

Home Visit

WWe require a home visit prior to any dog being placed. In some cases, we may accept a virtual home visit using photos and videos.

Adoption Donation for All Dogs and Puppies:

$495

This donation is tax-deductible as allowed by law and helps to offset the costs that we have incurred for the dog’s care and housing during his or her stay with our group. The minimum adoption donation does not entirely cover the investments that we have made in the dogs, so if you are in a position to give more, we would be honored to receive your additional donation. All adoption donations go directly toward the needs of our dogs.

All dogs adopted through GSROC are spayed or neutered, current on their vaccines and de-wormed. Because the minimum Adoption Donation rarely covers the costs associated with each dog, we ask that adopters who are in a position to give additional funds do so at their discretion.
