I'm looking for a friend! Can You Please Help Me?UPDATED BIO!
Dakota and his brothers are shepherd mixes that have been dealt a bad hand since their birth. They received no love and no human kindness in their young lives until our volunteers stepped in to help them.
In his loving foster home, Dakota has really blossomed. Neglected dogs like Dakota take time to relax, to see that the world is safe and even fun! Dakota is a very happy dog, silly and loving – when he is comfortable and around his friends. He loves to play with other dogs, and he would love to sleep in bed with you!
Dakota is a very handsome boy, and his favorite time of day is first thing in the morning when he gets scratched behind his ears and on his chest. He holds his tail up high and wags his tail like crazy! He loves to do his puppy play bow in the morning and prance around when he sees you.
Dakota loves playing with other dogs and will do best in a home with other playful dogs. He would love a home with multiple dog friends, and he gets along with all of his foster siblings, including a chihuahua who chases him around!
Dakota needs a regular schedule, and is independent. He would thrive in a home with a routine, and would be fine with a family that is at work during the day (once he was comfortable) as long as he had a safe yard to play in and dog friends with him. He loves long naps in the sun and watching the birds.
Dakota’s foster mom says, “Dakota is a really great dog. He loves life, loves to play and is an easy dog. He is a real love bug when he is comfortable with you. At first you have to gain his trust, and then he gives you such loving looks – it just melts your heart!”
If you are looking to rescue a dog that truly needs to be loved, Dakota is the sweet fellow for you!

Home Visit Prior to any dog going home, we do require a home visit to ensure that your environment is safe and secure. Once your home has been approved, the adoption can move forward.
Adoption Donation Our adoption donation is minimum $350.00 plus $25.00 for microchip for adult dogs and $450 plus $25.00 microchip for puppies 1 year and under. This donation is tax deductible as allowed by law and helps to offset the costs that we have incurred for the dog's care and housing during his or her stay with our group. The minimum adoption donation does not entirely cover the investments that we have made in the dogs so if you are in a position to give more, we would be honored to receive your additional donation. All adoption donations go directly toward the needs of our dogs.
All dogs adopted through GSROC are spayed or neutered, current on their vaccines and de-wormed. Because the minimum Adoption Donation rarely covers the costs associated with each dog, we ask that adopters who are in a position to give additional funds do so at their discretion.
