I love toys!

A pet detective who was on the hunt for a missing dog came upon Denver huddled at the side of a roadway. She thought he had been hit by a car because he didn’t move when she approached him. In truth, he WANTED her to help him. Poor Denver was so thirsty and hungry and he had such a bad ear infection that he couldn’t hold his balance. He had horrible sores around his neck that were probably the result of a collar that had grown too tight. We’re so grateful to this good samaritan for saving Denver’s life.

Our dedicated volunteers have been working with Denver and the transformation has been incredible! His coat has come in beautifully and he is a truly handsome black and red fellow, probably a German import judging by his build. Denver is an active, playful, athletic 3-year-old who loves, loves, loves TOYS! If he spies one anywhere, he decides it MUST be his! We think that Denver would make an excellent agility or possibly even search and rescue dog because his drive is so high.

Denver’s ideal home is an adult only home with shepherd experience. He loves people, but he can become very possessive of his toys, so we don’t recommend him for a home with children. He also gets upset about razor scooters, motorized bikes, and skateboards, so we suggest that he go to someone who doesn’t enjoy these activities!

Denver is an incredible dog with power, drive and great looks. He is looking for an active lifestyle and someone that he can look up to.

Adoption Donation

  • Adult GSDs: $395
  • Purebred GSD Puppies: $495
  • Mixed GSD Puppies: $395
  • Special Senior-to-Senior Adoptions: $295
This donation is tax-deductible as allowed by law and helps to offset the costs that we have incurred for the dog’s care and housing during his or her stay with our group. The minimum adoption donation does not entirely cover the investments that we have made in the dogs, so if you are in a position to give more, we would be honored to receive your additional donation. All adoption donations go directly toward the needs of our dogs.

All dogs adopted through GSROC are spayed or neutered, current on their vaccines and de-wormed. Because the minimum Adoption Donation rarely covers the costs associated with each dog, we ask that adopters who are in a position to give additional funds do so at their discretion.
