Emerald is a beautiful purebred Belgian Malinois who was left at an overcrowded shelter along with her sisters. Her sisters have been adopted and it is now her turn. Emerald is in a GSROC foster home where she has made friends with the other dogs there. She is being socialized with other dogs, children and people.
Everything is new to Emerald and she needs a home that is experienced with shy dogs and willing to help her overcome it. A quieter home without a lot of commotion will be a good match for her. She is gradually overcoming her hesitation with new things and will blossom with the right person.
She is busy learning her puppy social skills and is learning about the doggy door. She is crate trained and walks well on a leash. She travels easily in a car. Emerald is energetic, intelligent and full of curiosity. This girl is no couch potato and loves to be out in the yard playing with the other dogs in her foster home. However, when she is inside, she is respectful of her environment and watches TV with her foster mom.
She requires a home knowledgeable of this breed and willing to provide the time and energy to train her so she can develop into the mature wonderful dog she should be.
Please remember, adopting a puppy is not everyone’s cup of tea. As cute as they are – puppies demand a large investment of time, patience, and training. They are inquisitive, have endless energy and get into just about everything. They dig, chew, and seemingly never stop! Think long and hard about your lifestyle.
If you are not willing to invest the time and training to ensure your puppy matures into the wonderful dog – then please consider an older dog.
PLEASE NOTE. PUPPIES ARE SHOWN BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. THEY DO NOT COME TO ADOPTION EVENTS. PLEASE SUBMIT YOUR APPLICATION AND A COUNSELOR WILL CONTACT YOU DIRECTLY.

Home Visit Prior to any dog going home, we do require a home visit to ensure that your environment is safe and secure. Once your home has been approved, the adoption can move forward.
Adoption Donation In light of the rising vet care costs associated with Giardia tests and boarding at vets, we are raising our adoption donation for adult GSDs to $395.00 starting on July 1, 2021
The adoption donations for other dogs will remain the same — $475.00 for purebred puppies, $375 for mixed puppies. (On a case by case basis, e.g. senior for senior, we will place a senior for $275.00 with a senior.)
This donation is tax-deductible as allowed by law and helps to offset the costs that we have incurred for the dog’s care and housing during his or her stay with our group. The minimum adoption donation does not entirely cover the investments that we have made in the dogs, so if you are in a position to give more, we would be honored to receive your additional donation. All adoption donations go directly toward the needs of our dogs.
All dogs adopted through GSROC are spayed or neutered, current on their vaccines and de-wormed. Because the minimum Adoption Donation rarely covers the costs associated with each dog, we ask that adopters who are in a position to give additional funds do so at their discretion.
