I'm Housebroken!Agility, anyone?

Meet Ernie, a classic black and white semi-rough coat pure bred Border Collie. Ernie is 1.5 years old and weighs about 32 pounds. Ernie is a social butterfly. He loves people. Belly rubs and cuddles are tops on his list of favorite things. He also loves other dogs and plays all day long at daycare. However, Ernie can have so much playing that he jumps, so it’s best that he not live with small kids, for fear that he will knock them over. Ernie is built like a speed demon. He is slim and fast, faster than his Border Collie foster sister.

In his foster home, he has learned about the tennis ball. He now likes to fetch and is starting to carry the ball around with him. With encouragement, his ball drive will grow. He would make an excellent sports prospect with his speed and his interest in connecting with and pleasing his person. Want to see Ernie in action? Click here.

Next on his list of favorite things is car rides. Ernie loads right up and is a good passenger. He would love to go on adventures with his family. Ernie is also very smart. He quickly learned to use the dog door and is house trained. He knows to sit for attention and for dinner. He also knows not to beg at the person’s dinner table. He knows exactly what happens when the leash comes out.

He will excel in a home that continues to work on his training, working through less leash pulling and building other skills. Oh, and Ernie says to be sure to mention that he likes carrots and broccoli. Not only is he a fit, active, smart boy. He also likes healthy snacks!

Ernie is neutered, microchipped, and current on vaccinations. He is ready for an active home that knows Border Collies and can keep a young guy like this active.

Adoption Application If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs, you may submit an application online or via fax. If you choose to send a fax, please download the Adoption Application here in PDF format; fill it out and sign it. You can fax it to us at 714-773-9430.

Home Visit Prior to any dog going home, we do require a home visit to ensure that your environment is safe and secure. Once your home has been approved, the adoption can move forward.

Adoption Donation Our adoption donation is minimum $350.00 plus $25.00 for microchip for adult dogs and $450 plus $25.00 microchip for puppies 1 year and under. This donation is tax deductible as allowed by law and helps to offset the costs that we have incurred for the dog's care and housing during his or her stay with our group. The minimum adoption donation does not entirely cover the investments that we have made in the dogs so if you are in a position to give more, we would be honored to receive your additional donation. All adoption donations go directly toward the needs of our dogs.

All dogs adopted through GSROC are spayed or neutered, current on their vaccines and de-wormed. Because the minimum Adoption Donation rarely covers the costs associated with each dog, we ask that adopters who are in a position to give additional funds do so at their discretion.
