This beautiful girl is Gem… And well, she is just that, a Gem. Gem found herself in a distant shelter where she charmed the staff with her sweet disposition. Sadly, day after day, week after week. everyone passed Gem by. They wanted to know where the puppies were. Gem became very sad at the thought no one wanted her. The staff tried everything to get her adopted but no one came forth. Sadly, they could not keep Gem any longer and she was going to be put down the next morning. The staff at the shelter was distraught at the thought of this beloved girl being put down. In one last attempt to spare her life they contacted GSROC… We could not let this beautiful girls life end in a shelter.

Our volunteer drove to get her and thought her heart would melt. The staff all came out and gave her hugs and thanks for saving this favorite dog. Then one by one, Gem went to each staff member and gave them kisses of thanks. It was like she knew they had just saved her life. Then Gem was ready to hit the road. She hopped up in the car as if to say “Let’s go !!!”

Gem rides beautifully in the car and lays quietly. Gem is about 6 to 7 years old and extremely well mannered. She gets along great with other dogs (both large and small) and gave kisses to the cat at the vets office. If you are looking for a well behaved companion who is housebroken, walks well on a leash and is trained, Gem is your girl. She is also spayed, fully vaccinated and microchipped.

Gem is currently interviewing for her forever family…

Adoption Donation

  • Adult GSDs: $395
  • Purebred GSD Puppies: $495
  • Mixed GSD Puppies: $395
  • Special Senior-to-Senior Adoptions: $295
This donation is tax-deductible as allowed by law and helps to offset the costs that we have incurred for the dog’s care and housing during his or her stay with our group. The minimum adoption donation does not entirely cover the investments that we have made in the dogs, so if you are in a position to give more, we would be honored to receive your additional donation. All adoption donations go directly toward the needs of our dogs.

All dogs adopted through GSROC are spayed or neutered, current on their vaccines and de-wormed. Because the minimum Adoption Donation rarely covers the costs associated with each dog, we ask that adopters who are in a position to give additional funds do so at their discretion.
