I Play Well With Others!I Love To Play!UPDATED BIO!

Little J.R. is only three-months-old, and yet he’s suffered abandonment, trauma and injury. Found as a stray by a kind animal lover,J.R. was completely coated in thick, black tar from head to tail. He looked positively miserable, and without intervention he would have certainly died a painful death by overheating.

J.R. was not difficult to capture–he was desperate for human attention. At the shelter, kind volunteers removed layer after layer of tar from the tiny pup, whose appreciation was demonstrated through lots of puppy kisses! After a quick clip to remove the dead hair, a brand new puppy emerged!

J.R. is in a GSROC foster home and doing great. He is happy, playful and full of fun. He is getting along well with the small dog in his foster home and busily learning his puppy manners.

Here is a report from his foster family:

He has met multiple dogs of all sizes and has gotten along with all of them. He has also met many people, and greets each of them with friendliness. He has high energy, and crashes at night. He is very smart and has been quick to pick up multiple tricks, and learned how to get through a doggy door without being shown. He gives great puppy kisses and is always eager to give and receive affection. He is learning to go swimming with us (with the coaxing of treats and praise). Also, he is 5 months, and he has some big paws and the body is beginning to match them. He is still a bit mouthy, but has done well with children as young as 6 years old.

Home Visit Prior to any dog going home, we do require a home visit to ensure that your environment is safe and secure. Once your home has been approved, the adoption can move forward.

Adoption Donation Our adoption donation is minimum $350.00 plus $25.00 for microchip for adult dogs and $450 plus $25.00 microchip for puppies 1 year and under. This donation is tax deductible as allowed by law and helps to offset the costs that we have incurred for the dog's care and housing during his or her stay with our group. The minimum adoption donation does not entirely cover the investments that we have made in the dogs so if you are in a position to give more, we would be honored to receive your additional donation. All adoption donations go directly toward the needs of our dogs.

All dogs adopted through GSROC are spayed or neutered, current on their vaccines and de-wormed. Because the minimum Adoption Donation rarely covers the costs associated with each dog, we ask that adopters who are in a position to give additional funds do so at their discretion.
