Kate is a medium-sized girl, approximately 65 pounds, with beautiful markings and wonderful ears and coat, in physically good condition.
She loves to please, walks well on a leash, barks and then listens when told to stop, is great in the house, knows her commands, likes to herd sheep, likes to go to the beach and dog park, enjoys the coffee shop, and finds great comfort in lying at your feet, watching your every move and enjoying life with her gang.
Kate bonds closely with her doggie playmate as well as her people, so Kate must have a home with another dog living in it. She must also have a home with people who are social and want to spend time with Kate to give her the mental stimulation she needs. While she only needs average physical exercise, she does need to have a job taking care of the other dogs, kids or you!
If you are a member of facebook, take a look at Kate’s Facebook page and enjoy the videos of her at the beach and herding the sheep!! Just copy this url into your search engine:
Notes from her foster mom:
“Well Kate and I went herding this afternoon. What a great experience!! Just sitting waiting for our turn, Kate’s ears were perked and her eyes watched every move the sheep made. When it was her turn she was thrilled. She took to it like a duck to water. Even the trainer commented on how quickly she responded to commands while herding. She did amazingly well. She did nip at their heels a couple times, but the trainer said she’d get over that quickly once she fully understands what is expected of her.”

Adoption Application If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs, you may submit an application online or via fax. If you choose to send a fax, please download the Adoption Application here in PDF format; fill it out and sign it. You can fax it to us at 714-773-9430.
Home Visit Prior to any dog going home, we do require a home visit to ensure that your environment is safe and secure. Once your home has been approved, the adoption can move forward.
Adoption Donation Our adoption donation is minimum $350.00 plus $25.00 for microchip for adult dogs and $450 plus $25.00 microchip for puppies 1 year and under. This donation is tax deductible as allowed by law and helps to offset the costs that we have incurred for the dog's care and housing during his or her stay with our group. The minimum adoption donation does not entirely cover the investments that we have made in the dogs so if you are in a position to give more, we would be honored to receive your additional donation. All adoption donations go directly toward the needs of our dogs.
All dogs adopted through GSROC are spayed or neutered, current on their vaccines and de-wormed. Because the minimum Adoption Donation rarely covers the costs associated with each dog, we ask that adopters who are in a position to give additional funds do so at their discretion.
