Meet Kelly, the ultimate companion dog! Kelly is a black and silver female, approximately 2 years young. She is happy and playful, and would love to be in a home with other dogs her own size. Kelly has magnificent markings. She needs some exercise to help her get back into her bikini weight. She loves to go for walks and would appreciate being your companion on morning and evening strolls. This is a great all-around dog who would make a wonderful family pet. She learns very quickly and will absolutely shine in an obedience class where she can show what a smart girl she is!
Kelly was rescued from an overcrowded animal shelter when she was slated for euthanasia simply because there was not enough cage space for all of the incoming strays. Fortunately, a dedicated volunteer made a very long drive to get this precious girl to safety.
Kelly is an excellent house guest in her foster home. She has nice manners and never has accidents in the house. Kelly gets along well with her canine roommates male and female alike, but she likes to “talk” to them with a bear-like growl. We have learned that Kelly’s growl is not meant defensively…oddly enough, this is how she communicates! Kelly loves a good belly scratch and isn’t shy to go plop down in front of you and roll on her back so that you get the hint.
Kelly is in a foster home while she waits for her forever home. To arrange to meet her, please contact adoption@gsroc.org and complete the online application to expedite the adoption process.

Home Visit Prior to any dog going home, we do require a home visit to ensure that your environment is safe and secure. Once your home has been approved, the adoption can move forward.
Adoption Donation In light of the rising vet care costs associated with Giardia tests and boarding at vets, we are raising our adoption donation for adult GSDs to $395.00 starting on July 1, 2021
The adoption donations for other dogs will remain the same — $475.00 for purebred puppies, $375 for mixed puppies. (On a case by case basis, e.g. senior for senior, we will place a senior for $275.00 with a senior.)
This donation is tax-deductible as allowed by law and helps to offset the costs that we have incurred for the dog’s care and housing during his or her stay with our group. The minimum adoption donation does not entirely cover the investments that we have made in the dogs, so if you are in a position to give more, we would be honored to receive your additional donation. All adoption donations go directly toward the needs of our dogs.
All dogs adopted through GSROC are spayed or neutered, current on their vaccines and de-wormed. Because the minimum Adoption Donation rarely covers the costs associated with each dog, we ask that adopters who are in a position to give additional funds do so at their discretion.
