I Play Well With Others!I Need An Experienced OwnerCHECK OUT MY NEW PHOTOS!

Kuzco is a young male who is very active, housebroken and crate trained.  Named after the emperor in a recent Disney film, he can be a sweetie – but he can also become a bit over protective if allowed.  An experienced home that sets limits for him is a must to ensure his success.

He has just completed an obedience training session and will happily show you all that he has learned.  He follows commands and has been well socialized with other dogs and people. He lives in a GSROC foster home and gets along well with the medium and large dogs there.    He will thrive in an experienced home that enjoys the typical GSD personality and will provide him with the structure and training he craves.

He will do best in an adult home or one with older children. This is not the puppy for families with small kids. He often sees himself as a giant puppy and forgets that he has become a big boy.  Sometimes his exuberance gets the best of him that is why we recommend a home with older children.  He also can get mouthy when excited and needs an experienced owner to remind him this is unacceptable. He is active, likes to explore and have a good time.  Sitting around as a couch potato is something Kuczo would never dream of doing.

Once Kozco trusts and respects you he will follow the rules, and loves to cuddle with his people. And then he will be ready to get up, get moving and have fun again.   However, he does like to push limits like most teens do.  A family that will firmly remind him of the rules of the road is needed to help him succeed.

Please remember, german shepherds are puppies until at least 2 years old.  Don’t be fooled by Kuzco’s size, he is still very much as a puppy.   As cute as they are – puppies demand a large investment of time, patience, and training.  They are inquisitive, have endless energy and get into just about everything.  They dig, chew, and seemingly never stop! Think long and hard about your lifestyle. If you are not willing to invest the time and training to ensure your puppy matures into the wonderful dog – then please consider an older dog.

If you would like to meet Kuzco, please complete the online application and an adoption counselor will contact you.

Adoption Application If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs, you may submit an application online or via fax. If you choose to send a fax, please download the Adoption Application here in PDF format; fill it out and sign it. You can fax it to us at 714-773-9430.

Home Visit Prior to any dog going home, we do require a home visit to ensure that your environment is safe and secure. Once your home has been approved, the adoption can move forward.

Adoption Donation In light of the rising vet care costs associated with Giardia tests and boarding at vets, we are raising our adoption donation for adult GSDs to $395.00 starting on July 1, 2021

The adoption donations for other dogs will remain the same — $475.00 for purebred puppies, $375 for mixed puppies. (On a case by case basis, e.g. senior for senior, we will place a senior for $275.00 with a senior.)

This donation is tax-deductible as allowed by law and helps to offset the costs that we have incurred for the dog’s care and housing during his or her stay with our group. The minimum adoption donation does not entirely cover the investments that we have made in the dogs, so if you are in a position to give more, we would be honored to receive your additional donation. All adoption donations go directly toward the needs of our dogs.

All dogs adopted through GSROC are spayed or neutered, current on their vaccines and de-wormed. Because the minimum Adoption Donation rarely covers the costs associated with each dog, we ask that adopters who are in a position to give additional funds do so at their discretion.
