I Love To Cuddle!Volunteer Favorite!UPDATED BIO!

Sara has so much love to give to a special person or family. She seeks out affection and wants to please. She will be a stand out in any basic obedience class because she is very bright and ‘will work for food’. We think she would be an amazing agility dog because of the spring in her step and her streamlined build. Sara has a beautiful gait that looks like a prance when she walks. She’s a busy dog in her foster home, so she needs a person or family that likes to walk, jog or hike and she must have another dog to keep her company.

Sara is housebroken and she is learning manners. She has already learned that “counter surfing” is not a good passtime, but she couldn’t resist stealing some ribbons off of the holiday gifts and prancing through the house with her prizes. She will do best in a family with a gentle but strong leader or else she will quickly get the upper paw and begin to manage the family herself! Sara is a bit fearful of certain men, but she’s made great strides in this area already. Once she knows that she is safe, she turns into a wiggly, silly puppy who seeks out affection.

Sara is petite and delicate–probably weighing around 50 pounds tops. We expect her to remain on the small side. Her markings are very feminine and elegant but she is a tomgirl at heart. Here are some notes from her foster mom:

“Sara is a joyful little spirit that you could call ‘plucky’. One minute, she’s cuddling and getting stroked and the next she’s off like a streak, chasing bugs or investigating gopher holes. She is guaranteed to make you laugh! She is as smart as a whip and will do very well in agility type sports. Sara will do best in an environment with a stable routine and a leader who has patience for puppy antics. I could see her with a jogger or hiker because of her high energy level.”

Adoption Donation

  • Adult GSDs: $395
  • Purebred GSD Puppies: $495
  • Mixed GSD Puppies: $395
  • Special Senior-to-Senior Adoptions: $295
This donation is tax-deductible as allowed by law and helps to offset the costs that we have incurred for the dog’s care and housing during his or her stay with our group. The minimum adoption donation does not entirely cover the investments that we have made in the dogs, so if you are in a position to give more, we would be honored to receive your additional donation. All adoption donations go directly toward the needs of our dogs.

All dogs adopted through GSROC are spayed or neutered, current on their vaccines and de-wormed. Because the minimum Adoption Donation rarely covers the costs associated with each dog, we ask that adopters who are in a position to give additional funds do so at their discretion.
