We learned about Snow’s plight from a kind volunteer in a Central California animal shelter who discovered Snow on the list for euthanasia. This individual was the only thing standing between life and death for our beautiful white princess, but she refused to give up hope. She contacted various rescue groups but none would accept Snow due to her advanced years and generally poor condition. Naturally, when we heard Snow’s story, we pledged our help.
A dedicated member of the GSROC team made the long, arduous drive to Santa Clarita and back to bring Snow to safety. Snow showed her gratitude with shy, gentle kisses.
Everyone who meets Snow says the same thing, “What a sweetie!”. She is a gentle, quiet girl who has had many litters judging from the condition she was in when she arrived. When Snow first came to us, her white coat was brown and she was covered with fleas, but after a couple of “spa days”, she is already looking and feeling much better.
Snow had her surgery to remove a large mammary tumor and we are delighted to report that tests confirmed that it was not cancerous! Snow has many healthy years ahead of her! Snow is desperately seeking a sponsor to help offset the high costs of her surgery and care. If you can help by pledging a donation, please click on our DONATE page and indicate that your gift is for Snow.

Home Visit Prior to any dog going home, we do require a home visit to ensure that your environment is safe and secure. Once your home has been approved, the adoption can move forward.
Adoption Donation In light of the rising vet care costs associated with Giardia tests and boarding at vets, we are raising our adoption donation for adult GSDs to $395.00 starting on July 1, 2021
The adoption donations for other dogs will remain the same — $475.00 for purebred puppies, $375 for mixed puppies. (On a case by case basis, e.g. senior for senior, we will place a senior for $275.00 with a senior.)
This donation is tax-deductible as allowed by law and helps to offset the costs that we have incurred for the dog’s care and housing during his or her stay with our group. The minimum adoption donation does not entirely cover the investments that we have made in the dogs, so if you are in a position to give more, we would be honored to receive your additional donation. All adoption donations go directly toward the needs of our dogs.
All dogs adopted through GSROC are spayed or neutered, current on their vaccines and de-wormed. Because the minimum Adoption Donation rarely covers the costs associated with each dog, we ask that adopters who are in a position to give additional funds do so at their discretion.
