Stretch is approximately 2.5 years old and full of fun. Happy, friendly, and handsome – all he needs is a family to love. He is a big boy with classic markings.
Unfortunately, brushfires were sweeping the area around the shelter where Stretch was staying. Space is at a premium as this shelter is being used as a temporary home for pets being evacuated due to the fire. When GSROC heard this, we rushed to the shelter to rescue the homeless dogs there so space could be made available during this crisis. We knew they were on borrowed time.
Stretch made friends at a recent adoption event. He likes to meet new people – to Stretch, everyone is a potential new friend! He is a young guy and will benefit from some basic obedience classes. He is very smart and eager to show you how quickly he can learn.
Stretch is now in a foster home and making a very good impression! He met a puppy and was gentle when playing with him. He has been polite and friendly to all he meets. He is not quite sure about the crate yet, but will happily enter it when enticed with a treat. Once inside, he settles right down and takes a nap.
Stretch was introduced to cats and small dogs and he let us know immediately that while puppies are tolerated, cats and small dogs are not on his hit parade. Often dogs can tell the difference between a puppy and a small dog or cat. They will tolerate a puppy, but not a grown small dog or cat.
Here he is playing with his puppy friend:

Home Visit Prior to any dog going home, we do require a home visit to ensure that your environment is safe and secure. Once your home has been approved, the adoption can move forward.
Adoption Donation Our adoption donation is minimum $350.00 plus $25.00 for microchip for adult dogs and $450 plus $25.00 microchip for puppies 1 year and under. This donation is tax deductible as allowed by law and helps to offset the costs that we have incurred for the dog's care and housing during his or her stay with our group. The minimum adoption donation does not entirely cover the investments that we have made in the dogs so if you are in a position to give more, we would be honored to receive your additional donation. All adoption donations go directly toward the needs of our dogs.
All dogs adopted through GSROC are spayed or neutered, current on their vaccines and de-wormed. Because the minimum Adoption Donation rarely covers the costs associated with each dog, we ask that adopters who are in a position to give additional funds do so at their discretion.
