As is so often the case when people get a puppy… We got a plea to help Tala. Her family tried to do the right thing and rescue a dog from a shelter, rather than go to a breeder. However, their older dog just did not want to accept this darling little girl despite numerous attempts. Rather than return her to the shelter, her heartbroken owners asked us to please help. Tala is a typical high energy pup. She loves to run and play and, as you can see from her pictures, she loves to cuddle and give kisses. Tala is current on her shots. She is also spayed and microchipped.

Tala’s name means Goddess of the Stars in Indonesian. She has gone through puppy kindergarten where she passed with flying colors. Tala is so smart…she knows sit, shake, stay, lay down and even roll over !!! She is housebroken. Individuals who are considering Tala should note that she is a very high energy girl who would do best in a home with another dog to help wear her out!

Tala is in a foster home with other dogs and is doing great. She is a little leery of being abandoned again, so a home with another dog is what she would prefer. As a puppy, Tala is teething and therefore chews on everything including her people. As a puppy she just might chew your shoes, eat your flowers and even your couch. Puppies require a LOT of work and energy. They will also reward you with 12 to 14 years of love and devotion. If you can completely commit the next 12 to 14 years to this little darling girl please call Shawn at 714/206-9002 or email at ShawnGSDRescue@aol.com to ask about Tala.

Adoption Application If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs, you may submit an application online or via fax. If you choose to send a fax, please download the Adoption Application here in PDF format; fill it out and sign it. You can fax it to us at 714-773-9430.

Home Visit Prior to any dog going home, we do require a home visit to ensure that your environment is safe and secure. Once your home has been approved, the adoption can move forward.

Adoption Donation

  • Adult GSDs: $395
  • Purebred GSD Puppies: $495
  • Mixed GSD Puppies: $395
  • Special Senior-to-Senior Adoptions: $295
This donation is tax-deductible as allowed by law and helps to offset the costs that we have incurred for the dog’s care and housing during his or her stay with our group. The minimum adoption donation does not entirely cover the investments that we have made in the dogs, so if you are in a position to give more, we would be honored to receive your additional donation. All adoption donations go directly toward the needs of our dogs.

All dogs adopted through GSROC are spayed or neutered, current on their vaccines and de-wormed. Because the minimum Adoption Donation rarely covers the costs associated with each dog, we ask that adopters who are in a position to give additional funds do so at their discretion.
