I'm Athletic!No small dogs

Two year old Teton was left in a neighborhood with collar and leash attached.  No tags, no chip and no identification.   Teton refused to leave the area as he was convinced his family would come back for him.   Signs were posted but no one came to claim him.   He landed in a crowded shelter  still hoping his family would show up.    When his time was up, GSROC stepped in to ensure this young guy would have a better life.

Teton is a Belgian Malinois and  has the classic personality,   He is intelligent, energetic and has a high prey drive.   Teton has energy to burn, loves to work and thrives on challenge.   He  must have an intelligent and committed owner to thrive.   Teton likes people and gets along with most dogs.  He knows basic commands, sit, down and stay.  He even knows how to army crawl.   He walks well on a leash and is alert to his surroundings.

Being the typical malinois, Teton will pretend not to understand his commands initially.  It’s his way of testing his handlers to see just how good THEY are.    Once he realizes his handlers have his number, he settles right down and does what he is asked.   After all, Teton really just wants to please and excel at the job he is given.

Recently, we introduced Teton to several small dogs on different occasions. .  While he was not aggressive to the small dog,  he was entirely too focused on these small dogs for our liking.

Home Visit Prior to any dog going home, we do require a home visit to ensure that your environment is safe and secure. Once your home has been approved, the adoption can move forward.

Adoption Donation Our adoption donation is minimum $350.00 plus $25.00 for microchip for adult dogs and $450 plus $25.00 microchip for puppies 1 year and under. This donation is tax deductible as allowed by law and helps to offset the costs that we have incurred for the dog's care and housing during his or her stay with our group. The minimum adoption donation does not entirely cover the investments that we have made in the dogs so if you are in a position to give more, we would be honored to receive your additional donation. All adoption donations go directly toward the needs of our dogs.

All dogs adopted through GSROC are spayed or neutered, current on their vaccines and de-wormed. Because the minimum Adoption Donation rarely covers the costs associated with each dog, we ask that adopters who are in a position to give additional funds do so at their discretion.
