Abbey, My Rescue Dog
Thursday, Mar 15,2012

I wanted to send you this photo of my rescue dog. I first found her on your website with the help of one of your members. My dog was listed as Addie on your site. I adopted her about 2 1/2 years ago in San Juan Capistrano. She had malnutrition and her coat was awful. Your volunteers fed her and brought her health to a point where I did not even recognize her when I went to pick her up.

I have 8 grandchildren, 6 of them are under the age of six years. Of course, bringing a rescue dog in, not really knowing her history, if it was just neglect, or abuse, or she was a lost dog, I was a bit concerned and kept a very close eye on her with the kids.

At first, she would open her mouth, as to bite them when they bothered her. She never followed through with a bite, but just used this as a warning that she did not like what they were doing.

After 2+ years, she has definitely become a member of the family. As you can see from my attached photo she loves the kids and they love her. She is both gentle and very protective of my young twin grandsons.

Thank you GSROC for this wonderful addition to our family.
