Dear German Shepherd Rescue:
I don’t know if you remember me–I was at one time named “Bear”. My previous owners had dumped me at the Riverside Animal Shelter because I had gotten “too big”. I never quite understood why they would over-feed me and then cast me aside because I was overweight, but that is what happened. One of your volunteers spotted me and took me to your shelter. I am happy to report that I now walk two miles on most days and I am feeling quite fit. I still have some weight to lose, but I am on my way! My sister Bella gave me a pretty hard time when I first arrived and it was touch and go for a while, but we eventually worked it all out and now I can’t imagine life without my little sister, Belliegirl. Thank you again for saving my life and for finding my new family for me. Life is quite good.
