We are so grateful to have found GSROC. We lost our beloved shepherd mix, Spencer, to cancer over the summer and we were all heartbroken. Having two young children we thought it would be very difficult to find just the right dog to take into our family. We needed a dog we could trust with the kids. Not only that but our eight year old male dog had become “picky” as to who he would or wouldn’t accept into the home. When I spoke with GSROC and you thought there could be a match and recommended our meeting Lola. You explained Lola’s story and her special needs and emailed us a picture. It was love at first sight. Lola has turned out to be everything she was described to be – smart, patient, and loving. Within three days she was eating like a champ and fit right into our home. I called Lola’s foster mom to ask her some specifics about feeding etc., she was so pleased to learn that Lola had a boy to call her own – she’d always seemed to want one. And our little boy is so lucky to have Lola! Thank you GSROC!
