BRAVO AWARDS ARE SOMETHING TO SMILE ABOUT!
Tuesday, May 10,2011

Earlier this year, German Shepherd Rescue of OC had the profound honor of being named to receive a coveted BRAVO award. Reserved for individuals within the community that go above and beyond for the safety and well-being of others, BRAVO awards are typically presented to individuals in law enforcement, public safety, and local government to acknowledge exceptional acts of courage and kindness. GSROC was selected as the only animal welfare organization to receive the award. We were selected specifically for our work to save the dog now known as “Courage,” who survived deliberate starvation attempts by his cruel owner. Courage survived his ordeal and is enjoying a pampered life in a loving home. Pictured are David Ono, of ABC 7 News, noted television personality, Huell Howser, and GSROC leadership Michael Wollner, Maria Dales and Shawn Hollub. Courage took his time in the spotlight well in stride and wowed the audience of 300 with his magnificent build and gentle personality. What a proud moment this was for all of us!
