HUGS & KISSES EVENT WAS HEARTWARMING
Tuesday, Oct 04,2011

GSROC was thrilled to be a part of the annual Hugs & Kisses Foundation’s “Blessing of the Animals” event in Calabasas on October 2. More than 300 animals, ranging from dogs and cats to rabbits and horses, gathered in a lovely park-like setting to celebrate the joy that companion animals bring to our lives. Dozens of rescue groups were represented, along with the LA PD K9 and Mounted Divisions. It was obvious that all of the animals in attendance knew that they were part of something special, as all were very well behaved. Non-denominational ministers blessed each animal that stepped forward, then presented each with a St. Francis of Assisi medallion. GSROC dogs wore their orange bandannas proudly and were very well behaved. So many people stopped by to thank us for providing safe haven for the beautiful shepherds in need. We send our deepest thanks to Warren Eckstein and his wife Denise who made it possible for so many animals to have a day filled with fun and love.
