Despite a record heat wave, Team GSROC had 78 runners representing us in the Pasadena Marathon event this year. We were the second most populated team, and the only animal welfare organization represented! This is the second year we participated in this race, and we were able to double the population of our team.
With Captain Aileen in the lead, our participants ran in various races including the kids run, 5K, 10K and 1/2 Marathon. All age groups were represented, and even one of our youngest volunteers, Alexis, achieved third place in her division in the 5k!
Our dedicated volunteers Bernie, Jerry and Cayleen were there early in the morning before the race began to set up our booth, and stayed until the end despite the high temperatures. Two of our rescue pups, Balou and Chloe charmed the crowd, as well as Alum Yavol who is always a favorite with everyone!
Thank you to all who participated and we look forward to seeing you next year!
