Earlier this year, students from UC Irvine took on the project of making a prosthetic for our special pup, Wiggles. Wiggles was born with the birth defect of having no formed back feet, which causes her to wiggle in order to move around.
One of the members of the project team, Jason, has adopted Wiggles after taking care of her for 3 weeks while making adjustments to the prosthetic and bring her to presentations and the Spring Review. She managed to wiggled her way right into his heart!
“Team Wiggles” has they call themselves will continue to work on improving the prosthetic, both to improve the quality of life for Wiggles and to develop a potentially commercially viable product.
