German Shepherd Rescue got a call from a rescue colleague who had found two beautiful shepherds roaming as strays. From the condition they were in, it was obvious to this veteran rescuer that they had been on their own for a while. Irvin–the older boy–had sticks and burrs in his beautiful plush coat and open sores on his back.
A dedicated German Shepherd Rescue volunteer made the LONNNNNNNNNNNG, traffic-ridden drive to Ramona to pick up Irvin and the other dog, whom we have dubbed Santana. Despite their ordeal, the dogs are friendly and sweet. Irvin seems to be the leader of the two, yet he has a gentle personality.
The volunteer who rescued Irvin named him after an Angels baseball pitcher, but the volunteers like to call him “Fuzzy Bear” because his coat is so soft and his face is so cute! He loves to get tummy rubs and he will give you his paw very gently to get your attention.
To arrange to meet Irvin, please complete the online application and then contact Mdalescomm@aol.com for more info.
