Ulysses is known as “Ulie” to his friends. This rock solid 5 year old boy is an AKC German-bred sable male with strong features, an impressive pedigree, and a proud stature. Ulie weighs in around 95 pounds but has not had a lot of leash training, so he would benefit from a basic obedience course. Because of his size and strength, we are recommending him for a home that is experienced with shepherds. If you appreciate the nobility and granduer of the German-bred shepherds, Ulie will positively take your breath away.
Ulie loves kids but he can be a little clumsy. He is not particularly good with other dogs, but he tells us that he would like to learn–no one ever taught him before! No kitties, please, for this macho man. Ulie is housebroken and very affectionate. He suffered some physical abuse at the hands of a man, so he is somewhat stand-offish with men that he doesn’t know until he can trust them. Once he knows that you will not hurt him, Yulie is a big teddy-bear baby!
Ulie lost his home when his people got divorced. He is very confused right now, as he has never been away from his family, but our volunteers are helping Ulie with the tough transition.
Ulie is in boarding. If you are an experienced shepherd owner and you have room (lots of room) in your home and your heart for a wonderful boy, please complete the online application and then contact Mdalescomm@aol.com for more information.
