In early December, Dickens will be one year old. He is a very healthy, energetic young dog; thus…full of the Dickens!
Dickens is happiest when his family is at home. Sadly, his family now works longer hours than when he first joined them, and nobody is happy about that, especially Dickens. He needs a new family with more time to share, and maybe another dog for a buddy.
Dickens is very smart, affectionate, and quite an athlete. If he were at school, he would be at the head of his class, but the first one out the door at recess! He loves people; he thinks they need lots of kisses and paw shakes; but he needs to work on his greetings. Dickens loves walks, and to play and run. He can even catch a ball in mid air!
He does not bark a lot, although when he sees a stranger near the house, or wants to play, he’ll let you know. Dickens loves other dogs; they can play for hours.
Dickens is housebroken, and he knows basic commands but like any young dog, he needs more training. He will pickup your newspaper and bring it inside; he is still working on “drop it”. At mealtime, he will sit and wait until given a signal (“go”) to begin eating his food.
