Blondie is a beautiful cream and black colored girl. She is very petite, weighing in at only 47 lbs! Once she gets on a proper diet and receives some much needed love, she should fill out to around 55 lbs.
Blondie was rescued from a local shelter when her time ran out. Blondie is fearful of other dogs so she will need an owner or family that can gradually introduce her to canine friends. She is longing to learn how to play, but her fears hold her back.
Blondie came to us with a very bad case of pneumonia which we nursed her through successfully. Now, she is strong, healthy and ready to find her very own family.
Blondie would prefer to be in a home with either a strong or really silly male dog. She did not chase the neighbor kitty at her foster home, and actually was scared of it! She absolutely LOVES people and responds positively to all kids. Blondie is housebroken, and very loving. She just needs to be just given some gentle training and time to relax, learn the rules and learn right from wrong. We are all so eager for Blondie to learn how much FUN it can be to be a dog–we suspect that she has never had a chance to just relax and be silly.
UPDATE 8/4/06 We have seen a tremendous improvement in Blondie now that she is feeling better! She is still a little apprehensive around new dogs, but she is willing to accept dogs that greet her politely. She has come out of her shell and she is a complete lover–she would love to cuddle on your lap if you would let her! Blondie can definitely learn to live with other friendly dogs providing that she is introduced properly.
