Balou is a handsome, rare blue shepherd. It is difficult to tell from the photos, but his ear tips and saddle have a a bluish-lavender tint, which is quite unusual for the German Shepherd breed. He is approximately 3 years old and a lovebug! Balou loves his people and was a shelter favorite–the staff held on to him lost past “his time” because they knew that this guy was special. He’s a good sized boy who is positively aching to be someone’s best friend and loyal protector.
Balou gets along with most female dogs, but does not want to share his castle with any other canine kings! He could use some basic obedience training to learn how to communicate better with male dogs and smaller dogs. We have not tried him with cats yet, but we have a feeling that they are not his favorite creatures.
We will update Balou’s profile as we get to know him better.
