Sunny joined her family about 5 years ago when Dad retired from a large company. He had always wanted a German Shepherd and Sunny was a gift from his coworkers. The sweet red and black puppy was a cherished member of the family and grew up with their young son. Then, the unthinkable happened. The current unstable economy hurt the family’s small business and caused them to lose their home and move to housing which does not welcome furry family members. What to do? They could not bear to think of their beloved Sunny languishing in the their local high-kill shelter. To them, humane euthanasia almost seemed preferable. They contacted rescues, but everyone was full. Then, a call came to GSROC. Although we are to capacity as well, we could not turn our backs on Sunny and see her life extinguished. Now, there a sad, but very relieved, young man who knows that his longtime friend will be safe in another loving home.
Sunny would prefer to be the only princess in her forever home, but would love to have young human companions. If you are interested in meeting her, please contact dberrie@charter.net and complete an application online.
