GERMAN SHEPHERD RESCUE OF ORANGE COUNTY VOLUNTEER PARTICIPATION AGREEMENT
If you cannot agree to each and all of these principles, then volunteering with GSROC is not for you. By submitting your Volunteer Application, you agree to be governed by these simple rules:
1. Be kind to all animals that you come in contact with. Your first responsibility is to ensure their comfort and safety.
2. Treat fellow volunteers and members of the community with respect. We expect the volunteers of GSROC to be respectful when dealing with other volunteers as well as with people from outside projects and initiatives and with the public. As an organization dedicated to animal health and well-being, compassion is a must. No one knows what challenges or life crises that fellow volunteers or parties who are surrendering dogs are facing.
3. Embrace honestly and integrity in every aspect of your work with GSROC.
4. Exercise good judgement, discretion and confidentiality. Depending on your role, you will be privy to various levels of information. As a volunteer, you are expected to keep GSROC information private. Breaches in the area of privacy and confidentiality are taken very seriously.
5. Work professionally and respectfully and avoid conflict. This includes negative communication with other volunteers about GSROC and its volunteers.
6. Be compassionate to fellow volunteers, potential adopters, parties surrendering their dogs and the general public. Volunteers are the face of the Rescue and how the public responds to the Rescue starts with you. Making a positive impression is vital to our important work.
7. Respect and support the decisions of the Board of Directors, who work hard to uphold and promote GSROC's high standards.
8. Consider yourself a trustee of GSROC and ensure that your actions and participation are in the best interest of GSROC at all times.Violation of the rules and principles set forth in this document may result in your removal as a volunteer with GSROC.
