Aaimina, ("ah-MEEN-ah") the Somali name for "feel safe" was found in the high desert by someone who feeds feral cats there. This emaciated girl crawled up to her in search of a hand out. The kind person had no dog food but offered her what she could.

Aaimina, (“ah-MEEN-ah”) the Somali name for “feel safe” was found in the high desert by someone who feeds feral cats there. This emaciated girl crawled up to her in search of a hand out. The kind person had no dog food but offered her what she could. Eventually, she was able to coax Aaimina into her car to get her to safety.

Aaimina is suffering from severe malnutrition. She is a very young girl who craves human affection and gave kisses to her rescuer. She is not feral and clearly belonged to someone at one time but had no collar or microchip. Aaimina is receiving life-saving care but requires blood testing, xrays, vaccines, deworming and, when she is stronger, spay surgery. For now, she is decompressing in a safe place. Home Visit

WWe require a home visit prior to any dog being placed. In some cases, we may accept a virtual home visit using photos and videos.

Adoption Donation for All Dogs and Puppies:

$495

This donation is tax-deductible as allowed by law and helps to offset the costs that we have incurred for the dog’s care and housing during his or her stay with our group. The minimum adoption donation does not entirely cover the investments that we have made in the dogs, so if you are in a position to give more, we would be honored to receive your additional donation. All adoption donations go directly toward the needs of our dogs.

All dogs adopted through GSROC are spayed or neutered, current on their vaccines and de-wormed. Because the minimum Adoption Donation rarely covers the costs associated with each dog, we ask that adopters who are in a position to give additional funds do so at their discretion.
