Enzo is a loving, intelligent, devoted and loyal dog and has served as an important role to a devoted family. He is self-confidence, approachable and outgoing.

Enzo is a five year old cream and black Shepherd that has been formally trained in obedience and as a result, knows verbal (and physical)commands such as sit, down, sit-stay, down-stay, wait, off, heel, etc. In fact, Enzo was featured with seven other dogs in a professional training video. He is responsive to commands even when strangers are handling him, provided the handler knows the proper obedience commands and techniques.

Enzo is good with other dogs (but tends to chase cats) and has no aggression over food, toys or treats. Enzo loves playing and cuddling with kids, he enjoys long walks or hikes and playing with other dogs at dog beaches or in dog parks. Really, he is a giant lap-dog.

Enzo is in good physical condition and has a beautiful coat. Enzo comes to the GSROC from a family with two young children, now ages six and four. Enzo had been a perfect pet for the children and a natural protector of the family, home and property.

Enzo was certainly a loved part of the family,
but he became very protective of the children and property. As a result, on separate occasions, he did his job as a protector, and was aggressive with strangers on the property.

Enzo was never aggressive with family, family friends or kids in the home or on the property. However, because the incidents, while not vicious in nature, became more frequent, the owners felt that in their family where doors and gates are left open at times, his protectiveness could become a serious issue.

Enzo would be the perfect companion for a family with older children, a couple, or a
single person.

Home Visit Prior to any dog going home, we do require a home visit to ensure that your environment is safe and secure. Once your home has been approved, the adoption can move forward.

Adoption Donation In light of the rising vet care costs associated with Giardia tests and boarding at vets, we are raising our adoption donation for adult GSDs to $395.00 starting on July 1, 2021

The adoption donations for other dogs will remain the same — $475.00 for purebred puppies, $375 for mixed puppies. (On a case by case basis, e.g. senior for senior, we will place a senior for $275.00 with a senior.)

This donation is tax-deductible as allowed by law and helps to offset the costs that we have incurred for the dog’s care and housing during his or her stay with our group. The minimum adoption donation does not entirely cover the investments that we have made in the dogs, so if you are in a position to give more, we would be honored to receive your additional donation. All adoption donations go directly toward the needs of our dogs.

All dogs adopted through GSROC are spayed or neutered, current on their vaccines and de-wormed. Because the minimum Adoption Donation rarely covers the costs associated with each dog, we ask that adopters who are in a position to give additional funds do so at their discretion.
