Jack is a happy fellow, always content and smiling. He’s calmly affectionate without being pushy, simply putting his head in your lap to ask to be petted (he doesn’t know how to give kisses). His demeanor is friendly, gentle, and polite with everyone he meets, including elderly folks, small children, other dogs of all sizes and both genders, and even cats! Everyone falls in love with him immediately. Due to his great size, unusual color, and gorgeous lush coat, Jack attracts attention wherever he goes. Sometimes, he is even mistaken for his canine cousin, the wolf!
We believe Jack was used as a stud dog in a puppy mill. His heartless owners abandoned him and several females, just moving out and leaving the dogs behind with no one to care for them! Despite this tragic background, Jack is trusting, loving, and wants only to please. Undemanding and patient, he has excellent manners. He’s house-trained, walks nicely on a leash, and loves riding in the car. He doesn’t chew or jump up, and he hardly ever barks.
Jack requires regular exercise for a condition in his back legs, and he takes medication and glucosamine tablets for some arthritis. He’s a slow mover, but he LOVES taking leisurely walks with his foster family. He’s on a weight loss program to help keep his mobility good and has already lost 10+ lbs, now weighing in at about 115. His arthritis makes him a bit of a couch potato, so he’s an ideal dog for a less active family who would be willing to make sure he stays trim and doesn’t overeat.
Jack appears at ease with his limitations and content to relax and enjoy life despite them. Stretched out on the floor, he resembles a polar bear rug, but his foster family says he’s never in the way and is no trouble at all to have around. Jack has so much love to give, shares it freely, and asks little in return, except to be hugged, loved, and allowed to stay near his people!
